5 Variants

1. Pin cutting method
Locate the IC6041 an 8pin SMD (on the back of the PCB). Disconnect pin 5 & 6 (serial data & clock) on this IC.
Advantage: easy & cheap
Disadvantage: you can't store custom settings & it won't play new titles form Disney and Universal at all
  
2. Blank EEPROM method
Replace the IC6041 with a blank one.
Advantage: easy
Disadvantage: you have to use the "press stop->play ect..." method to play new titles from Disney and Universal

3. Reprogramming method
Reprogram the IC6201 (Flash RAM) with a new code.
Disadvantage: supposed to be the 100% working solution

4.Chip-upgrade method (Our favorite modification)

A mysterious Chip on the backsite of the PCB.

Disadvantage: the settings can't be change

5. Two original EEPROM method

Replace the IC6041 (8pin eeprom) with a small prototype PCB-Board.

1. Make two Eeproms, the exact type you need is Microchip 24LC01B. 
RegionCode 1 (american): rc1.zip (Panasonic A-100 and compatible only)
RegionCode 2 (europe): rc2.zip (Panasonic A-100 and compatible only)
  
2. Make a small prototype PCB-Board with the two EEPROM's.
PIN 5 of each eprom to SWITCH 1, Pin 1 of PCB Cable also to switch(middle)
all other PIN of both eproms connect both to PCB Cable
write protect the strange eeprom  by connecting PIN 7 to +5v.

ATTENTION: Use the  switche in one ore the other side when the Player is off !!!!!

Info: The Zone 1 Chip plays only NTSC Discs in NTSC and the Zone 2 Chip play NTSC Discs in PAL and PAL Discs in PAL.

Advantage: It plays ALL Discs and for all time! - easy and cheap
Disadvantage: manual switching - you can't  sore custom setting's with the strage eeprom (only with the original region code eeprom) - you must have a eeprom programmer
