Download TurboSim Utilities for unlocking iPhone
TurboSim Utilities for unlocking iPhone
First, your phone must be activated (with the AT&T SIM), jailbreaked, and with SSH and vim.
- Download the port of Turbo sim utilities on your computer, extract it on your computer (you need the binary file turbo-app)
- Download AppleSaft 0.92 from utilities , extract it on your computer (you need the .trb file)
- Turn on your phone with TurboSIM + AT&T subscription
- Disable CommCenter - ssh to your phone, vim /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist add
Code:
Disabled
for example add it just after these lines, already present in the file
Code:
OnDemand
If you do not like vim, you can do this modification on your desktop computer (iPhuc/iPhoneInterface getfile, modify the file, and putfile)
vim ultra light survival kit
i : insert mode
ESC : command mode (from insert mode)
dd : delete the current line (in command mode)
:w! : save (in command mode)
:q! : quit (in command mode)
- Reboot
- Copy turbo-app to your phone (for example in /opt/bladox)
- Copy applesaft.trb to your phone (for example in /tmp)
- ssh to your phone, set the executable permission to turbo-app (chmod a+x /opt/bladox/turbo-app) and run it with /opt/bladox/turbo-app /tmp/applesaft.trb. It should take approximately 30 seconds and you should not see any error. Please panic if you see one
- Reenable CommCenter - ssh to your phone, vim /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist and delete the lines you added previously
- Reboot
- Go into Settings/Phone/SIM Applications/Apple Saft and choose Set
- Turn off your phone
- Turn on your phone with TurboSIM + your subscription and test
A more complete installation:
Note:
- TurboSIM will work with any SIM (v1/v2/v3/2G/3G/whatever)
- If during the process you get an "AT+CPMS" error, there´s a very high chance it´s due to loose contact between the TurboSIM and whichever SIM it´s piggybacking. Remove the SIM combination from your iPhone, nudge it a little to make sure they fit, and replace in the iPhone.
- The difference between the ISA and AppleSaft methods is that ISA allows you to set up TurboSIM without the need to cut up your AT&T SIM, but is more complicated than using AppleSaft
First, you need to make sure of a few things:
- iPhone with Windows
- Jailbreak
- Enable SSH and using WinSCP (SFTP)
- iPhone activated using your own AT&T SIM´s token
(eg. iASign method using AT&T\'s ICCID, or activating with AT&T legitimately)
- iPhone with OS X
- Jailbreak and activate using iActivator (skip iActivator steps if already activated with AT&T legitimately)
- Enable SSH
- Using SFTP
- You have a 4GB/8GB iPhone from Apple
- You have the Turbo SIM - Blank Version
Once you have done all that, you can begin with the TurboSIM installation process:
- Connect to your iPhone via SSH
(The SFTPmethos is used in this example)
- Download Turbosim utilities
- Unzip it, and place the entire content of the folder bin-iPhone into the iPhone´s /bin directory.
(You can remove the bins after you´re done if you want. Ignore the folder patch.)
- Give executable permission to these files. Chmod +x <filename>, or chmod permission to 0755 if you´re using a client like WinSCP
- Download AppleSaft 0.92 from utilities (this is the AppleSaft app for TurboSIM)
- Unzip it, go to the bin folder in the file you´ve just unzipped, and you will find the file applesaft.trb
- Copy applesaft.trb into your iPhon´s home directory (/private/var/root)
- Disable CommCenter on your iPhone:
- Download and/or open the file /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist on your iPhone
- Add <key>Disabled</key><true/> just above the text </dict> on the second last line
(last line being </plist>)
- Save file and/or upload it back
- Restart iPhone
Now we´ve got all the software part settled, lets move on to some hardware fixing:
- Cut up the your own SIM card (the one you wish to use with the iPhone) until it fits the TurboSIM nicely. It is ok to cut a tiny bit more so that they´ll fit nicely.
- Repeat the above process with AT&T\'s SIM card
- Insert the AT&T-TurboSIM combination very gently into the iPhone.
Be extra careful! The TurboSIM is notoriously brittle, and will crack if you use too much force!
- Open up an SSH command terminal and enter the following command: turbo-info
- You should see a summary and OK
- Next, enter the following command: turbo-app /private/var/root/applesaft.trb
- You should see a reply with OK
- Enable CommCenter on your iPhone:
- Download and/or open the file /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist on your iPhone
- Remove the text <key>Disabled</key><true/> you have added previously
- Save file and/or upload it back
- Restart iPhone
