GATEWAY 400 adds original CD Changer retention to the massive connectivity of GATEWAY 300 for control of a huge range of audio sources from your factory fitted radio.
The Dension Gateway 400 is a vehicle-specific adapter that enables connection and control of media players (e.g. iPod), USB flash drives and other USB mass storage devices with FAT file system. It connects directly to the car's entertainment system and emulates an external CD Changer. It also allows you to retain the use of your CD Changer if you already have one.
A 3.5mm jack AUX IN connection is available for players otherwise not compatible with the device. An additional connection lead may be required for connection via this method and only Audio input is available (no direct control).
This hard-wired solution delivers CD-quality audio and safe control of the players from the vehicle's radio and steering controls (if fitted). The Gateway 400 also provides a standard video output to watch iPod movies on your cars entertainment system if available.

Only Eeprom flash files can be programmed with KWP 2000 Plus. Double DIL or Double PLCC should be done with external eeprom programmers, because can not be programmed throught your ECU
How it is done:
KWP2000 is used for remapping your car to improve the performance of your car.
No matter the car model the KWP2000 can re-program the information stored in the ECU chip to optimize and improve the power of the car without having to jeopardize fuel consumption and the reliability of the car. The technical term used to describe the car switchboard is ECU- Electronic Control Unit. The ECU uses closed-loop control, a control scheme that monitors outputs of a system to control the inputs to a system, managing the emissions and fuel economy of the engine (as well as a host of other parameters). Gathering data from dozens of different sensors, the ECU knows everything from the coolant temperature to the amount of oxygen in the exhaust. With this data, it performs millions of calculations each second, including looking up values in tables, calculating the results of long equations to decide on the best spark timing and determining how long the fuel injector is open. The ECU does all of this to ensure the lowest emissions and best mileage.

Functions:

Petrol (Naturally Aspirated)
Remapping a petrol engine ECU will produce 10 - 15% BHP depending on exact specification, the engine will also be more responsive on initial acceleration and produce more torque (up to 20%) through out the entire rev range, giving more response on lighter throttle.
Petrol (Turbo)
Remapping a petrol turbo engine ECU will produce 20 - 30% BHP depending on exact specification, the engine will be significantly more responsive with power coming in immediately relative to throttle input with no lagging at higher revs. This large increase in power & torque gives far more flexibility in all gears reducing the need to change down unnecessarily to overtake safely and quickly.
Diesel (turbo)
Remapping a diesel turbo engine ECU will produce 30 - 50% BHP and 60 - 75% torque depending on exact specification, diesel engines give the most impressive power and torque gains available. Extra power is gained through out the entire rev range and under all load conditions, the turning force gained from these engines is imence. This really is the best way of changing your car without having to change your car. Just seeing customers faces after tuning these engines really makes the job worth while
The ecu-flasher is compatible with:

VERY EASY TO USE:
- install the driverpackage to your notebook/pc
- connect the ecu-flasher to a free usb port
- point windows to the folder where you installed the driverpackage
- reboot
How to read data from a supported ecu:
- connect the hardware to your usb port and to the diagnostic port of the car
- start the communication software
- turn ignition on (not engine, just the ignition only)
- select the ecu you want to read/write from a list
- select additional options (if needed)
- click the read button to read out the original data (where supported)
- save the file to you HD, edit or forward it
How to write data to a supported ecu:
- connect the hardware to your usb port and to the diagnostic port of the car
- start the communication software
- turn ignition on (not engine, just the ignition only)
- select the ecu you want to read/write from a list
- select additional options (if needed)
- click the write button and select the file you want to write
- follow the instructions on screen
- switch off ignition and wait 10 seconds. done.
Read ECU

First choose the mark and type of the engine's ecu you want to read/write from a list. If you have any doubt about your ecu type you can verify it.

When the dialogue window appears just click on INFO and wait fore the program comunicats the ecu.

Now you will see the information about your ecu type. Just click on READ to assure that we have a copie of the original file (in case of some problem appears).

The program starts reading the ECU. Please do not interrupt this process

Choose where you want to save the original file and name it. To simplefy our work, name it with the numbers that appear in the window Information of the ECU.

Now it will ask to turn the key of the ignition off, do it, and then just press OK
Write ECU

Choose the mark and type of the ECU (as in the reading process) click on INFO. OPEN the file prepared for your caror ecu type.

In the right part of the window you will see the reverence of the ECU that corresponds to the open file. To confirm that this information match with our ECU type. Verify the numbers in both windows just to be save.

If you are absoluty sure that everyting you did is correct. Click on PROG, the system will now erase the memory of the ecu flash program it with the new file. Please do not interrupt this process.

When it finish just turns the key off and confirm by pressing OK.
Thats all! Now you can enjoy the new ecu program.
In some cases

If our ECU can not work with our diagnostic port, we should check the ECU manufacturer reference BOSCH and we should to verify with our data base what memory type is type 2xFxxx (28F010, 29F400…). In teory we should read or write by OBD. If the refence is type2xCxxx,. If the reference is 2xCxxx, we can reprogram but only openning the ECU and replace the chip for a new one programmed. If the memory is an 2xCxxx (27C010, 27C512) only is programable one time and have to buy a new chip.

For VAG cars, before communicating with the ECU, the instruments panel must be desactiveted. Open the fuse box and remove the 5A fuse indicated in red. With the instruments panel off we can can try to acces the ECU.

The ELM323 OBDII Interface, allows you to talk to your ISO 9141-2 or ISO 14230-4 standard OBDII equipped vehicle using an RS232 serial connection. It transparently converts between a 10.4KHz ISO data stream and standard ASCII characters, allowing trouble codes and operating parameters to be easily retrieved without the need for special software. No knowledge of data formatting, error checking, bus initiation etc. is needed either, as the ELM323 handles all of it for you.
The present version of the ELM323 (v2.0) provides several programmable features that the previous versions did not offer. It now allows programmable header bytes, adjustable timeouts, the ability to report in the packed data mode, and offers a special monitoring mode as well. This is in addition to all of the capabilities that the v1.x
ICs offered - the full seven byte command structure, two line (K and L) initiation.

Other Information : 1. The TachoPro software might not work on PC`s that are faster than 233 MHZ 2.Interface electronic of the Tachopro & K/L is the same, only tachoPro have the dongle inside so the tachopro software is possible to run and manipulate the mileage 3. Make sure using the Tachopro Software under PLAIN DOS only not under windows or a windows command shell 4. Scantool, scanmaster, digimoto are using another interface based on ELM interpreter chips and are not compatible to this interface (Of this ELM interpreter chips exist 3 pieces with different protocols) 5. For further dashboard problem, check pls. from what manufacturer your combi instrument is made, VDO(Siemens), Motometer or Magneti. The Tachopro can only work for Polo on the one made from Motometer 6. Tachopro supports cars up to 1999 sometimes to 2001 (from model to model) 7. It can make the full EEPROM backup of the techopro, only the EEPROM from the IC
