Bormioli Rocco's first glassware factory dates back to 1825, but historians say the origins of Bormioli Rocco glass can be traced back to the Middle Ages The result of a collaboration between Bormioli Rocco and Italy’s top sommeliers, the Premium stemware line is an elegant marriage of style and function. Developed with individual varietals in mind, each Premium glass is shaped and sized to draw out the specific bouquet and flavors of a particular wine. Bormioli Rocco artisans create the glasses from single pieces of crystalline glass and give them a slender pulled stem for beautiful looks and excellent balance. Each piece minimizes heat transfer from the hand to the wine, and the extra fine rims are especially pleasant on the lip. Ranging from flutes to cognac stems, the Premium collection is made in Italy and carries the recommendation of the Association of Italian Sommeliers. This Premium glass combines a graceful taper and restrained capacity to showcase the character of sauvignon blanc. In addition to suiting sauvignon blanc, it is also a good choice for red wines with body. Packaged here in a set of four, it stands 8-7/8 inches high and holds 12-1/2 ounces. Though dishwasher-safe, it should be washed by hand for best care.
