A gripping Hong Kong crime film, Cop on a Mission takes the usual themes of brotherhood between cops and thieves and twists them in a satisfying, entertaining manner. A dark Hong Kong noir that subverts its standard genre trappings, Cop on a Mission introduces us to an undercover cop who’s far worse than both the cops and the criminals. Police constable Mike and Chung are suspended from duty charged with abusing the use of their gun in a robbery. During his suspension from duty, Mike meets a Triad Society Big Brother, Tin and admires his lifestyle and also his sexy wife. Mike is apparently dismissed but in fact becoming a stoolie. Mike eventually becomes Tin’s bodyguard, and discovers that his buddy Chung also becomes a stoolie. Mike uses the Police Force to get rid of all big brothers and intends to become the head of the Society, as well as taking over Tin’s wife.
