Lover’s Grief over the Yellow River is another film directed by Feng Xiaoning. Its topic is battle and love. It is a rather excellent film which should not be passed up. During the later stage of World War II, a seriously wounded American airplane was forced to land near the Great Wall. A squad of the 8th Route Army rescued the American pilot and escorted him to the communist-controlled area. On the way, they encountered a series of thrilling events. Through these events, the film depicted the conflicts between the American pilot and the communist soldiers and how in the end, a life and death feeling was established among them.
