The Riedel Sommeliers Magnum Wine Decanter is a pleasure to handle. With its ribbed neck and ample size, it's large enough to decant a standard or magnum sized bottle of wine. The decanter is part of the Riedel Sommeliers glassware line, Riedel's top-of-the-line series of handmade specialty glassware and decanters. Made from 24% lead crystal, this is the ultimate in beauty, quality and dependability. Perfectly designed to fit our large wine decanter glass stopper. Size: 9'H, 79-3/8 oz. Decanting is a wonderful way to let old wines breathe while leaving behind the sediment that accrues during aging. Decanting is even appropriate for younger wines as it can awaken the flavor. The Sommeliers magnum decanter is suitable for wines that require substantial aeration and has a wider base than neck in order to expedite the oxidation process. The decanter has an eye-catching design with a rounded base and sloping sides that culminate into a 4-inch-long neck with a ridged spiral of glass winding around it. The glass spiral not only adds an attractive accent but also provides a more secure grip around the decanter's neck during pouring. This decanter is handmade of mouth-blown full lead crystal, which shows wine's natural brilliance and clarity.
