The squared piazza is deemed of the world’s greatest architectural creations and is the inspiration for the San Marco from Stührling Original. With the San Marco timepiece, we may have outdone even ourselves this time! The look; the technical achievement; the feel; the class; the style; the grace; sophistication; this watch indeed has it all! With an old world design with the crown and bow at twelve o’clock, the San Marco will never be called "understated." This watch is certainly not your everyday type of timepiece. For any special occasion no matter how formal, the San Marco will always be the center of attention. Boasting one of the most sought after complications in the world of horology….a power reserve indicator (positioned in the North East quadrant), this gage lets you know exactly how many hours are remaining on the mainspring of the watch. Combine the power reserve function with a quick-set date indicator at the twelve o’clock position and an animated AM/PM indicator, and understand that this amazing timepiece is being powered by a 23-jewel mechanical automatic movement, and one begins to realize the technical achievement in watch-making that is present here. The San Marco is beautifully enhanced by the hydraulically embossed guilloche soleil dial with the sun-rays emanating from the power reserve indicator sub-dial and angle down from the upper right to the lower left. This design makes it appear as though the sun is beating down as if you were having lunch in the mid-days sun at the Piazza San Marco. The styling on the dial is genuinely innovative and to really round out the look, just have a gander at how the graceful faceted dauphine style hands are perfectly harmonizing to the entire vision! In typical Stührling fashion the ever so sophisticated case is milled from only the finest 316L surgical grade stainless steel and accommodates a Krysterna™ crystal. The convex bezel is finished with a high polish and the markers on the dial are all individually applied. The stainless-steel crown is very unique in its placement at the twelve o’clock position and harkens images of yesteryear when pocket watches ruled the day. On the flip side, the San Marco is completed with a fully decorated screw-down exhibition case back with a beveled edge. This vision of a watch is almost as bedazzling on the backside. The fantastic screw-down case-back allows for easy viewing of the truly brilliant decoration on the exceptional 23-jewel mechanical self-winding movement. With Côtes de Genève and Perlage on the back plates and a Damier finished rotor with the Stührling signature logo, you will be proud to take the San Marco off your wrist and show it to all who ask about it!. Water resistant to 50 meters, the throwback gentlemen’s timepiece is mounted on a 20 mm wide Alligator embossed genuine French leather strap.
