His first feature-length film The Heirloom, which he made at the age of 24, stars four aspiring Taiwanese actors and actresses. Terri Kwan received a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Golden Horse for Turning Left and Turning Right , and in The Heirloom, her first film as the female lead, she teams up with the handsome Jason Chang whose charm previously lit up Formula 17. Together with Chang Yu Chen and Tender Huang, they will unfold a most thrilling story about a traditional Chinese family. Jason Chang is James, a young man who inherits his ancestors' residence. All other family members died twenty years ago by hanging themselves at the same time, and the house has become haunted since then... Director Leste Chen explores in The Heirloom how the very common notion of height can create a uncanny atmosphere - especially when James' family members all met their deaths on the same altitude, high above ground level. James and his girlfriend Yo (Terri Kwan), and their two friends try to uncover the mystery of The Heirloom, and just when they notice how sacrifice and family fortune are closely tied, they may no longer be able to escape from a long forgotten curse...
