Adapted from the same-titled novel by renowned writer Chung Chao Cheng, The Song Of Chatian Mountain is the final piece to the “Taiwanese Trilogy”. The story takes place at the end of WWII, when Taiwan was still under Japanese occupation. A young man with great aspirations decides to return to the island after getting his degree in Japan, so as to rally his people to stand up against their colonial oppressors. His endeavor is dealt a major blow when his ship is sunk. Now a hunted man, he escapes to a remote mountain, where he eventually settles down and falls in love with an aboriginal girl.
