Garnering five nominations at the 2006 Golden Horse Awards, The Touch of Fate: Da Yu is the second film from director Pan Zhi Yuan (An Ocean Too Deep). Yi Yi's Chang Yang Yang stars as the titular problem teenager who must face a new world of difficulties and revelations after running away from home. The film co-stars veteran Tai Bao (Cabbie) and new-generation actor Matt Wu Zhong Tian (Bump Off Lover, Devil Beside You), who was nominated for both Best Newcomer and Supporting Actor at the 2006 Golden Horse Awards for his performance. Fifteen-year-old Da Yu (Chang Yang Yang) is a rebellious loner who doesn't fit in at school or at home. One day, he gets accused of stealing at school and, unable to withstand the teacher's humiliating treatment, he chooses to fight back. Taking to the streets, he encounters pickpocket Liao (Tai Bao) and his son Lee (Wu Zhong Tian). Taken in by the feuding father and son, Da Yu begins to view life and family differently, but the awakening may come too late as his new trade hurls him down a dangerous path.
