Some Ideas with UniKey Storing Username/Password Since UniKey has 4k of memory, and includes an encryption/decryption engine onboard, you can store Usernames/Passwords inside the unit. You can encrypt data with the onboard engine and also make your own SSO (Single Sign On) solution. Web Logon It is easy to retrieve information between the UniKey and the Web via an ActiveX control. Thus a 'Two Factor Authentication' can be deigned by developers. 'Two Factor Authentication' means you should have at least 2 factors to show your ID - 'what you have'---UniKey hardware with correct data inside, and 'what you know'---UniKey password. If and only if you hold both of these, your ID is approved. To make a secure web logon, you also need to setup a database that stores all the user info. Data Protection System UniKey is a perfect container to store digital credentials including keys. Encrypting a piece of data with a secret key is the basic idea of data protection. This means that you can store the key inside the UniKey and encrypted it with the onboard engine. Access Control It is a novel idea to use UniKey for access control. You can store the access control data inside the UniKey and when the end-user wants to access a certain resource, the system verifies the data and checks if the user holds the appropriate privileges.
